We hope everyone had a great summer break and is ready for the first day of Chinese school on September 10! We are excited to greet all school members to Livingston Huaxia Chinese School to learn Chinese language, enjoy Chinese culture, and participate in multicultural exchanges! Together we exemplify our open and confident Chinese cultural community!
School Start Dates and Open Period
This Saturday (9/10/2022), all Chinese classes will start, including Standard Chinese, MLP Chinese, AP Chinese, CSL and Pre-K Chinese. Please look forward to a welcome letter from the teacher before 9/10.
Next Saturday (9/17/2022), all cultural and adult classes (including math and sports classes) will begin.
On Saturday, the School opens at 9 am and ends at 12:30pm.

Admission Slip
Please check your class name, class time as early as possible and contact us if anything needs adjustment or correction.
Please print Admission Slip from the Family Registration web page. The Slip has student's name, class name, teacher's name, class time, classroom number, and tuition payment status. Students should show their Admission Slips in the classroom.

Chinese Class Tuition and Textbooks
Chinese class tuition is due this Saturday on 9/10/2022, or a late fee of $50 will occur.
Tuition can be paid in one of three options: in cash; by sending a check to "Livingston Huaxia Chinese School"; or through Chase Quick Pay to quickpay@livingstonhuaxia.org (please include your Family ID).
For those whose tuition will be received by end of Thursday (9/08/2022), textbooks will be distributed in the classroom. Otherwise, please pay the tuition at the school registration desk and then receive the textbooks in the school cafeteria.
In the case of class withdrawal or transfer, textbooks can only be returned if they are in the original state. Otherwise, you will need to pay for the textbooks.
Class Withdrawal/Transfer and School Refund
Class Withdrawal: withdraw in the first week –> tuition refund 100%; in the second week –> 75%; in the third week –> 50%; in the fourth week –> 25%. Thereafter, no tuition will be refunded.
Class Transfer: self-transfer can only be allowed from a class with more students to a class with fewer students; otherwise, authorization will be required from the LHXCS Principal’s Office. A $20 processing fee will occur for all transfers after the fourth week of school.
School refund: if your account balance shows a negative amount, a school refund is due to you. The school will process refunds four weeks since the school starts and will notify you through the LHXCS Principal's Office message.
School Health and Safety Protocols
All students and teachers are required to wear mask in classrooms.
All classrooms will be sanitized before class shifting.
Gathering in school hallways are not recommended, please keep social distance.
Please follow the traffic guidance of our volunteers. No parking on teachers’ parking lots.
Please pick up at designated location to avoid traffic jam.
Adult students should leave school after classes.
School cafeteria will be open this school year. PTA will publish detail rules for the use of school cafeteria.
Driving directions and parking
School address and driving directions: LHXCS Address (the Livingston Mount Pleasant Middle School, 11 Broadlawn Dr., Livingston, NJ 07039).
Parking: optimal space may be limited, especially during the Livingston soccer season (September to November). Please consider carpooling, and allow time to park and walk to school.

Entrance/Exit and Pick-up/Drop-off
School members must enter the building through Gate 3 and exit through Gate 2. Please see the school Building Map.
Parents can send their children to classroom before class starts. Parents should stay in the cafeteria or leave the building when class is in session. After class, parents can pick up their children in the classroom.
School Communications
We use lhxcs@googlegroups.com email group to communicate with parents/guardians. To join this email group, please send an email to lhxcs_principal_office@ livingstonhuaxia.com.
Please update/confirm your email address, phone number and home address on the Family Registration web page to allow the school to communicate with parents about homework and other unexpected events.
Volunteering
Our PTA Chair, Ms. Dan Wang, will lead the parent volunteering committee. Please send email to dan.wang@livingstonhuaxia.org to participate in the school volunteering activities.
This year, the High School Student Volunteers Club will continue to volunteer in all aspects of the school, from assisting classes, school administration to special academic and celebration events. High school students are invited to register in the Volunteer Website.
