Chinese as Second Language
CSL课程介绍ZWCSL1 Chinese as Second Language Level 1 $800
Age: 7 and up
Textbook: Easy Steps to Chinese (Volume 1)
This course is an introduction to the basics of Mandarin Chinese, also including
information about, and the celebration of, festival traditions in Chinese culture. The
student will begin by learning Pinyin, the phonetic system, followed by the use of topical
themes such as greetings, numbers and time, family and school life, and practical survival phrases to provide speaking opportunities. The classwork and homework in written format will be assessed regularly. The character dictations as well as unit tests will also form the student’s grade from level 1 to level 6.

ZWCSL2 Chinese as Second Language Level 2 $800
Age: 8 and up
Textbook: Easy Steps to Chinese (Volume 1)
This course is built on the CSL level 1. This is an introduction to the basics of Mandarin Chinese, also including information about, and the celebration of, festival traditions in Chinese culture together with the themes such as greetings, numbers and time, family and school life, and practical survival phrases to provide speaking opportunities. By the end of the year, students will have learned more than two hundred different Chinese characters and will be able to write short paragraphs about themselves.

ZWCSL3 Chinese as Second Language Level 3 $800
Age:9 and up
Textbook: Easy Steps to Chinese (Volume 2)
This course is built on the basis of CSL level 1 and 2. Students will improve their aural
comprehension, reading and writing skills by using our text, Easy Steps to Chinese, along with its workbooks. The topics of countries and languages, subjects of study, weather and illness, hobbies, food and community life will be introduced. Oral communication will be emphasized on expressing personal preference and feeling, ability to reason and negotiate, also talking about the location and making appointment.

ZWCSL4 Chinese as Second Language Level 4 $800

–Textbook: Easy Steps to Chinese (Volume 2)
-This course is built on the basis of CSL level 3. Students will improve their aural
comprehension, reading and writing skills. Our text, Easy Steps to Chinese, along with its workbooks leads into the topics of weather and illness, hobbies, food and community life. Oral communication will be emphasized on the ability to reason and negotiate and talking about the location and making appointment.

ZWCSLA Chinese as Second Language Advanced Level 1 $800
CSL Advanced Level - As an advanced level, this course uses Chinese Made Easy, Volume 5, as our textbook. The class focuses on the training of Chinese communicative competence, and is also devoted to forming a solid foundation for the learner’s further study. Students will keep improving “Four Language Skills”: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Their ability to use appropriate expressions for self-introduction, school life, health, entertainment, media, travel, etc., will be enhanced. In addition to the text book, students will have classes learning Chinese cultural traditions and customs, as well as humanities and geography.
